After having my two hawks from Steve for about a week now I have been enjoying them a bunch. I haven't done any throwing, but I did do some chopping last weekend on some standing dead ash. Read HARD!!
The hawks chopped better than I expected for as light as they are. Maybe not as well aas my HI khuks but I know their abilities real well and I haven't perfected my chopping style with these babys yet. Their edges worked flawlessly, retained their edge with no signs of dulling at all. Great hardening!
I have had fun playing with these fine blades. I introduced them to another playmate today and realized they look made for each other. My old MMHW bowie seems perfectly suited with these hawks. I need to get some rustic leather for the bunch of them.
Well Steve, great work! The question now seems to be, What spike hawk to get to go with these.;)

Ted does custom order stuff, he will make you pretty much what ever you want and customize his stuff to your tastes as long as your credit is good:)

The knife in the photo looks like a mix of his Integral Guard Fighter and either his Combat Bowie, or the K-19 Bowie. Of course the brass guard was probably customer request along with the coffin handle, or else it is discontinued.

Chuck

Great Lookin set..Nice photo..Have fun !
JParanee: nice pig sticker you got there too....

Cool. Thanks, Chuck. Sorry for the minor hijacking, ArchAngel.

It was a custom done for its first owner. He unfortunately had to sell it and I was lucky enough to snag it. It is a wonderful monster. It does need some good leather though. The kydex that comes with is not tough enough to hold the knife well.

That's not highjacking my friend. That is networking. It is how we help each other find our next blade. We need to do more of it. I am always looking for my next blade. It is listening to each others loves that help us find them.
You guys all helped me find Steves work.
I do appreciate it!:D:thumbup:

I like my mineral mountain bowie, tough as nails. The kydex sheath makes it more tactical looking which is not me but has it's place. Will probably make a leather sheath for it on down the road. They are no frills hard work users. They are heavy.

I like the rest of the Knive's Ted make's also there are some real good Buy's, I like the New Cut and Run Knive's there a perfect PSK give them a Para-Cord wrap and your good to go "And there a Steal at 65.00 Shipped !

You are not wrong. My bowie is 18" and 35oz. so that is close to 2 oz an inch.
Definately not a Bagwell, high speed fighter, but once you get it moving it is a little like a khuk. Anything in its way will be cut in a big way. The edge on mine was a little obtuse for me. I changed it to 20 degree and it cuts much better.:D
Now bare with me on the usage. It was the only sharp knife at that Thanksgiving dinner I was at. I had to go get it out of the door of my truck, clean it off real well for food service and we finally had turkey for dinner.
