Coarse G10 Para-Military 2 Pics

I just got this bad boy yesterday. I don't have another Para 2 with black handles so I figured I'd compare it to my UKPK with black G10 since it was also made in Golden, CO.

I thought at first it would be too coarse but it's not. I like it. The picture of it taken apart was because when I first got it it wold open smooth until about the last inch and it would bind up. Ended up being some weird dry blue stuff that looked like someone spilled blue Loctite in the pivot area. I didn't want to send it back to Knifeworks so I took it apart. I cleaned it up with some alcohol and a rag and put 'er back together. I've probably taken apart close to 15 Para's and put them back together. I am by no means an expert at doing it, I just have it down pat by now. Anyway, on to the pics.

:thumbup: I like it! I have a black/DLC PM2 and a couple of other CO knives with the normal G10 and I like them well enough. I'd love to give the coarse G10 a try just because it's different and I'd like to see if the extra texture feels better or worse than what they normally use.

I don't think. It's not as aggressive as the G10 that Cold Steel uses (if you've ever handled that). It's like it's coarse but it must not have like sharp peaks or something. It is a more coarse pattern but it doesn't feel that abrasive to me. I mean, yeah it feels more abrasive than the normal Spyderco Para 2 G10, but not a lot more. Hope that helps. :thumbup:
 
Did your Black Handle/Black Blade PM2 come with a Black Clip? ..... Edit. That's the all black version! My favorite! Might have to pick one of these up. Where did you get it?

Yes it did. I got the one pictured above at Knifeworks. I actually talked to them on the phone and all of the black blade / black handle Para 2's that they have are all the coarse G10 model right now. They do not have the "normal" G10 in at all right now (at least with the black handle I mean).
 
Must ... Resist ... The all black and coarse g10 looks like it could fill my para 2 void since I sold mine. Doesn't the dlc coating help with corrosion resistance also to where it might be as corrosion resistant as say a s110v.
 
Darn.... called KW, they are sold out. Kinda want one of these Black/Black, PM2, Course g10 models.
