Has anyone checked out the line of LED lights that Coast Cutlery is putting out? I bought the one that has 3 LEDs and is the size of a MiniMag 2AA. It seems to be bright enough. The only drawbacks that I see are battery availibility, and it does not have an ajustable beam.

Some of the smaller ones look like they would be good for the mini kits on the wilderness skills and survival side.

I have one of those. It's a good light, but a bit pricey. The quality and construction is excellent.

See my reply in the "Wilderness" forum.

I should add that despite the information I provided in the other forum I have a friend who is an experienced outdoorsman who likes his very much.

Those Eddie Bauer lights are the same Zweibruder Ledlenser lights sold in Europe. You can get them at Target stores. I have the 3 LED light myself. It's a bright LED light (brighter than mt PT Attitude), but it's a bit on the heavy side. The finish is powder coated, so it will scratch easily and those N cells can be difficult to find. Overall, it's a decent light, but I wish the on/off botton was recessed so it would minimize the chance of accidental activation while in a pouch or pack.

It feels pretty solid but I don't like the switch. Has a 'sticky' feel to it.

Claimed battery life on it is something like 200hrs.

The switch does feel cheap and it's cover is known to fall off, but there is a spare switch cover inside the tailcap of the torch.
