Alright everybody,
I have a great review for you all, This is My FIRST thread on this website and I am very excited
This review is on the Coast Rapid Response 3.9. I bought this knife on a whim just so I could have a new blade in my pocket. I decided to get the 3.9 over the 3.0, the smaller of the two rapid responses, because it was about $5 more than the smaller one at the time. I have had this knife for a few weeks now and decided to do a review here on Blade forum because YouTube Is no longer working and this will probably be a better source for feed back.
Lets get into some info,
Coast is a Portland based company that makes lights, knives and multi-tools. After seeing this knife on the rack at my local sportsmen warehouse I had to get one the following is the Specs that they give on the Coast Portland website:

*Blade-Assist Knife
*5Cr15Mov stainless steel blade
*3.9 in. blade
*8.75 in. overall
*4.8 oz.
*Super-fast assisted opening
*Fiberglass-filled nylon handle on stainless steel frame
*Ambidextrous pocket clip
*US Patents: 7,827,697 & 7,854,067
I did several cardboard cut tests, and it held up great. it was very sharp out of box but I resharpened it to a wicked edge that fillet through cardboard. It held up well with the test, but much like AUS8 once it starts to go dull it is dull. There are several styles of blade to go with; serrated non, tanto, spear point. I went with the Spear point just out of personal appeal and because i didn't dig how much serration it had on the blade
After fondling the blade for a couple of days I learn quite a bit about the knife's spring assisted opening. when looking at it one day I realized it doesn't have a spring like most spring assisted openers because I could see a ball bearing system where the washers would be-which allows for a very smooth opening.
After opening and closing the knife for several minutes I notice it, it has a re-tension bar! I do not know what the exact name is for it is, but to better explain it, it is similar a stiletto opens but is is able to lock in when closed with out a lock or button to set it off, i found it innovative because I have never seen anything like it!
Over all it is a great knife, i will update if anything does change or happens to it

Please comment, ask questions and leave remarks, it helps me out alot & if anyone can let me know how to post pics I can get some up to give you a better view of it this blade
