Let's hear it for C2C with Art Bell, George Noory and Ian P....Love the show and I signed up the streamlink so I can download the next morning and listen without the commercials - the only way to listen to talk radio

Earlier this year I had about a 5 hour drive home at night after working all day , the only thing that kept me from mentally collapsing was cup of joe , smokes and C2C :D
I find half of what is usually discussed fascinating, subjects like Bigfoot , Mel's Hole and ghosts.
Yea you get some wierdos on there but still it is at least entertaining and a lot of it is good food for thought.

What surprised me is the night of 9/11 , I never knew how Art Bell felt politically , it was a pleasent surprise to know we see somewhat eye to eye.

Like the show or not , Art Bell is as Americana as Elvis is. (and far more entertaining IMO)

Art Bell, a great American icon........lives in the Phillipines:D Anyone know exactly why he up and left Nevada? I know his Wife died not too long ago here, then he was gone for a while, and when he came back, he was broadcasting from an island in the Phillipines...

Guests are sometimes so lame I just turn the radio off..."The Numbers Lady" and that show he does every few months with 'ghost voices' on tape recorders.*yawn*

I get up really early to go to work. Like 1:00Am early. So, for a long period back in the nineties I would turn on Art Bell every day, getting ready for work. There's nothing else on that time of night. I got to really enjoying his show, his style, all those strange and eccentric people he had on in the middle of the night to talk about even stranger stuff, some of it believeable, some of it totally outrageous. But, he loved music, too. He had Gordon Lightfoot on, one night. Willie Nelson, Crystal Gayle. Also, Steven Segal, one night, who whined continually about the long breaks at the top and bottom of every hour. That used to bug me, too. I was so disappointed when he left the air after Y2K and I don't care for George Noory all that much, so I've basically quit listening. But Art was awesome and he had the most amazing collection of bizarre friends anywhere.

Art was stationed in the Phillipines while he was in the Army, a long time ago, like the sixties, I believe and he always spoke fondly of that place. Maybe that's why he went back, after he "retired." Art was also very outspoken about politics, as well as everything else, back when he was on the air every night. I got the impression that he made some enemies back then and he might have felt that someone had it in for him. Ya never can tell. That might have had something to do with his leaving the US, also.

I used to listen every night. Now I probably catch part of a show once a month. Not half as good as it once was in my opinion.

IIRC, his wife from the Phillipines.

His interview with Father Malachi Martin about the end times is unforgettable for me.

Sometimes I get the feeling some of Georges guests are doing an infomercial...almost like they PAY to get on the air and sell their book...

Perhaps there's a conspiracy between the producers of the show and the publishers of the books... ;)

Been listening since 1994.:D

It's not as good as it use to be when it was five hours long and Art would have 1 or 2 guests a night. I really liked the Sunday show he use to have, Dreamland.

George Noory has taken the show in a different direction which I'm still debating myself. Rather than staying with the paranormal, supernatural, bigfoot, UFO, gov conspiricies he has expanded to other areas like science and technology.

George is good but he still is not to the level of Art Bell.

I'm a big fan of the show and try to turn others on to it. So far I have not been very successful. :D

That was the epitome of scary.

Mr. Noory has had some fascinating folks on in the past too , maybe it's one of those things where you're so used to the original, you never really give the replacement a chance.
You need to learn to laugh at the fruitballs , or change the channel but not everyone he has on there is like that. Sometimes his show is good for a laugh , other times it has been great food for conversation, such as a hard-core Catholic father he had on earlier this year who stated that anyone not practicing the Catholic version of Christianity was going to hell when they passed. I got mad at first but then realized that it was interesting to hear someone so convinced they are right and could put a good argument forth why they know they are right , and then to hear the disputing side in return. That is what makes great radio.

I've been listening for such a long time I cannot remember when I started....Late 80's maybe. I heard Father Malachi Martin the first time he was on. Gets me through the night. I've had stream link since day 1. I like George too.

Larry, it comes on 680 in B-more, but I'm guessing the stream would be better quality. I have to pick it up on 580 out of Harrisburg, I can't get 680, and I'm only an hour from B-more, an hour and a half from H-Burg, might be a stronger signal out of H-burg. I've been listening to it since about 02, when it was on a local FM station, 105.7. One more reason to hate HFS, they canned Coast to Coast when they took over, and now play screamo punk. I can't stand that crap!

Yea I didn't like it when HFS took over either.
I have 5 stations set on my AM. 680, 1100, 1110, 1200 and1210. I switch back and forth as I drive....almost like in and out of cells. Sometimes the best reception comes from either Charlet or Canada????

Tonight art had Sean Carrol on. He is a Senior Research Associate in Physics at Caltech. His research interests include theoretical aspects of cosmology, field theory, and gravitation. It was a fascinating show.
About 7 0r 8 years ago I talked to Art and sent him a photo of myself with over 1000 pounds of mammoth tusks. He posted it on his site and it was in the archives for almost a year. I received some very interesting emails. Only one was from a nut job. She gave me a hard time for using mammoth ivory because it contributed to the death of these magnificent animals. I told her we do not kill them we harvest the tusks from our domestic heard and they grow back.

Being a night shift worker for most of my career, I've listened to CTC for a long time. Fun show (As long as one doesn't make themselves a tin-foil hat because of it).

I was sad to see Art Bell go. Noory seems like a very nice guy, but lacks Art's intellect and ability to make the show interesting. Art could talk to any guest and relate what he/she said to a number of topics and make for intelligent conversation on the fly. Noory seems like he doesn't quite understand what a guest is trying to say half of the time and replies to them with boilerplate answers. Bell often asked thought-provoking, hard questions of his guests. Noory seems like he's often reading questions from a pre-prepared script.

Oh well, at least Art Bell still puts out some good shows from his new gig in the Philippines on the weekends.

I still like Phil Hendrie's parodies of CTC better than the real show...

That's simply awful. How would you like it if I came up and pulled out a couple of YOUR teeth, tough guy? Do you at least give them a shot of novacaine?

Did you mention to her that you allow children to ride them @ $2.00 a pop ?
:)

Can I put in my order now for some Mammoth burgers for when you thin the heard next time....You don't use The Road Kill do you???
It was an interesting show last night.

I think it was on Friday, maybe Saturday, Art Bell was talking with a guest who claimed to have been in massive cave cities under South America. Anyway, like it always does, talk turned to Bigfoot. Art found a clip purported to be of a bigfoot screaming, and even though it sounded like a high pitched tyrannosaur roar from Jurassic Park, it scared the crap out of my dogs who were sleeping in my room, and raised the hairs on the back of my neck. Art seemed to think it was genuine.

Hey, any MD members, Nowicki included, have you heard about Delta PA being a hot spot for supposed Bigfoot activity? Probably all of the Delta mountain grass they're smoking up there, but some of the tales I've heard from the people up there are pretty good.
