I have a quick "coating" question. I used my SJT over the weekend and about 1/2" of the black crinkle coating has been removed down to the blade at the tip. No damage to the blade:D . Is there a way to recoat a knife once enough of its coating has been removed or am I destined to have a satin knife? Thanks hawgs.

I look forward to the day my coatings get so messed up that I can just strip my INFI naked and run wild through the trees.

Well it's broken in for sure. Just the coating though. The steel is untouched. Too dang tough.

You just became a true HOG the day that coating came off!:D :p

Removing the handles and recoating the blade is no big deal. We occationally got requests from guys who baught a knife used and wanted a different coating. Call they shop and see what the wait might be. If they`re coating a batch of blades soon you might get lucky and have them add that one in. I can`t recall what Jerry charges, but it`s not expensive.

Just be sure you can live without your knife for a while because as everyone knows....Custom work like that takes (WAIT FOR IT)..."About 2 weeks".
Best regards,
Dave
