After the strip is there anything else to do, or can I just leave my Ratweiler like this???

Yes, sir! I am waiting for my Buy Brown sheath. Then it's hammer time!!

You're gonna beat on it with the sheath??? In my experience it's more fun to use without the sheath! ;)

The cardboard one just doesn't cut it.

That's because they don't ship with the much needed duct tape reinforcements. I was just pulling your leg with the first part, but not the second. ;) You will enjoy it a lot with a Buy Brown kydex to carry it in, I know I do.

She looks nice like that. I can see myself stripping every one I own eventually. I just love that raw steel look. I guess I am too old school for this finish stuff. With a finish I tend to not want to mess it up. When its raw steel I feel like I can use it and not worry so much. I know that may sound crazy a bit. If its pristine, I want to keep it that way. If its used, then use it. I hate to be the one that puts the first scratch on it. I often look for users on the forum for sale. Also when cutting food or skinning I seem to prefer the feel of raw steel and they way it slices. If you notice when doing food prep, the finish will pull on food sometimes. For instance cut a tomato with a knife with a rough finish like a Busse or raw steel. you can really feel the different. Just my opinion. Everyone is different though, thats why they offer knives in more than one color, to meet all tastes. On the other hand, I can see a real good reason for a combat knife to be coated to be non reflective as well as protected from harsh environments. In the past I have mostly used black oxide or gun blue. It makes a nice dark blade that is essentially none reflective. We used to keep these little bottles of flat black paint to ensure there were no shiny spots on equipment. So military use of coating is surely there.

What's next... finish stripping the handle end of the knife and then put it up on the Exchange :D

Seriously, that looks great with the coating removed
