Coating under Handle?

Just a quick question, the search didn't answer this for me. I noticed some folks use their Busse knives under water. Is the coating under the handle also, or is the handle/knife junction tight enough not to allow water penetration?

From what I've seen they're coated.

yes the coated blades have coating under the scales and water, silicone, oil will flow under the scales. the uncoated ones have no coating under the handles. i have oiled mine and have used an air compressor to blow excess out from under handles.
