Hey what is recomended for 1095 for cleaning, coating, and lubricating the blade?

Ive heard some people use wd-40?

If I have to spray my blade of my knife with WD-40 for it to go through wood, I’m using the wrong tool IMO. There are people that do it.

I spray my ESEEs with whatever is handy. Gun oil, WD-40, whatever. It all works.

I use mineral oil on any knife that may come into contact with food.

A large chopper isn't going to cut steak any time soon, but I've used my Izula a few times for food because it was handy so I don't want anything potentially toxic (or just plain bad tasting) on my blade.

I use mineral oil, but I think tuff-glide is like the best, since it leaves a protective film when dry.

i think for now im going to use rem-oil, until i can get some tuf-glide in.
I like to abuse my stuff, but baby it when I get home

Mineral oil is all I use. For long term I will use bees wax. Both are food safe and that is primarily my reasoning behind it's use.
