Cobra Hood?

Is the cobra hood removable? After doing a thread search, I'm still not sure. If so, sounds like there is an indentation where it fits into place. Can anyone clear this up for me?

On the Salsa: yes you can remove it, and yes there is a cut-out in the spine that it fits into.

Not sure about the ATR, never handled one, but I'd bet there is a cut-out. Can anyone confirm?
