Cobra Steel Wakizashi?

I think that's made by Windlass, IIRC. They make cheap stuff that's okay as far as it goes, but not exactly combat ready or hard use or anything. The Hanwei Tactical Wakizashi isn't a whole lot more, and it's a pretty good sword. Then again, that is cheap, and 1080 isn't bad stuff. It's probably worth the price, but only barely. I hate the rubber handles and guard. Might be a fun one to pick up, even out the bevels, and rehandle. Then again, it's probably cheaper to just pick up some steel and grind out my own :)

I know it's Windlass, a good friend used to sell some of their long swords, not sure which model, but they were decent. I've handled the Hanwei, and it's a beast in a small package, I just can afford it right now, sadly. I love to customize things, and seeing as I'm out of state I can't make knives, I'm getting jittery not having something to do. Thanks though.

1085 steel is going to be a bit brittle for a sword , on the plus side it should get very sharp . Not a wood chopper but for slicing ham

Might be worth a try.....But if you do your homework, you get the Hanwei for about $35 more delivered.

Here's a video on it on YouTube by WeAllJuggleKnives. Check it out.
