Lookin good Scott
How do you like that cocobolo? Personally I've got a love hate relationship going with it. I hate cutting and grinding the greasy stuff, but love how it finishes and handle you end up with.
Did you put any sort of finish on it? I always use a coat or two of danish oil. The stuff won't take much of it, but it does shine it up and stabilize the color a little bit. Seems to cut down on checking too.

Another one. Very nice, Scott. I don't know why I don't have one of yours yet, but I will! :)

Nice ---Cocobolo is far under rated for its beauty. Pick the right piece and it really enhances a knife.
Keep up the good work!

I'm working on my first cocobolo handle right now and I really like it. I'll be using it more. It does clog up belts but it's nice when finished.

Thanks fellas for the nice comments. Matt, I thought I'd use tung oil. Do you think the danish oil would be better? The person this is for is planning on using it in the field/outdoor use.

Didn't catch your question Scott, sorry about that.
I don't think it would matter too much which oil you used. Its not going to penetrate the cocobolo much at all. Just seals up the surface and fills the grain a little bit. Danish oil does really well at this, it has some stuff in it to make it fill grain and build a finish a little bit faster. I don't have any experience with tung oil, but I bet it would work just fine.

Thanks again. Matt,I think I'll go with the tung oil since that's what I have on hand.;)
