Hey folks!

With Dan's permission I am posting a thread here to tell you that I have a number of Koster Bushcrafts with Cocobolo handles and CPM3V for sale.

This has to one of the best knives I've ever held in my hand. Dan really did a good job with the handles on these.

Just got mine ordered. I like having a fancier looking knife to carry around at work.

With rare exception, these are the only 3V/wood handled Bushcrafts made!

Thanks to Jim and WorkingKnives.com for bringing them to light!

I just got mine delivered. Whew! What a knife.

Dan - the blade is .0010 thinner than my first gen. It also seems a bit softer - am I crazy?

TF

yes :p - these are actually harder - I had them done at 61 HRc instead of 60 HRc.

As far as being a thousandth thinner...I have used the same steel for all 3 runs so far...and I bet all of the knives vary in thickness by as much as 0.005-0.010" across the whole batch...just the nature of the beast. Comes to me from the factory as "nominal 0.135-0.146" in thickness...*shrug*

I asked the same question to Dan and the response was "Technically they are 3rd Generation - but they are not 2009 stock."

Dan - It is so odd - this knife seems to sharpen easier and take a better polish than my 1st generation. I figured the steel was just a tolerance thing. I am happy with both things either way! ;)

Can I ask an additional question? Do you put a micro-bevel on your knives before sending them out? I swear there was a microbevel that I needed to hone out when I put the initial edge on it.

I'm sorry to say that the current batch of CPM3V / Cocobolo Bushcrafts are sold out. :(

I know everyone that got one will enjoy their new knife. Dan, you did an excellent job on this one. You really set the bar pretty high.

Looking forward to more fantastic knives. :D:D

I do have some extra JRE Bushcraft sheaths that will be going up for sale soon. If you need a sheath for your Bushcraft, of any generation, look for a FS thread soon.

Thanks all

Jim

Jim, would you please bump this thread when you start the JRE Bushcraft sheath FS thread?

Thanks!

. Tell you what; If you sell me the one you stashed away for yourself, I won't tell the missus you tried to stash away some of the inventory. Deal? :D

These knives will be available again :), but I can't say when or what the price will be. :grumpy: I'm sure you'd love to root around in the vault but what's stashed in the vault stays in the vault and the missus has no say in it. :D
