I just finished this one.

I now have a much greater appreciation for Cocobolo. I love this wood!.

Blade: 6" x 3/16" of hand forged 1084 steel with 1200 grit hand rubbed finish on the bevels as well as the forge finish flats.

Handle: 4 3/4" of highly contoured, quarter sawn Cocobolo, peened copper pin, and a naturally polished finish. The spacers are of copper and ebony. The guard is highly polished mild steel with an integral lanyard slot and accompanied by an adjustable/removable leather wrist lanyard.

Sheath: Premium 6-7 oz veg-tanned leather(from RJF), fully leather lined, with a one-piece Cocobolo inlay, polished copper snap, and buffed Mink oil finish.

Thanks for looking.
Please let me know what you think.

ETA: I just realized that I didn't take a shot of the lanyard slot..... I'll be back.

I would give you the PRIVILEGE of letting you pay me to take if off of you.

Ok, fine, I won't make you pay. :D

Beautiful knife. Love the cocobolo worked into both the sheath and the handle.

Those are some crazy angles on that one. Would not want to be trying to keep those nice and true.

Great job.

Crisp lines on the knife and a very attractive combination sheath. Impressive package.

Really nice set of knife/sheath.....very clean and very well done.

Thank you folks.

I managed to get my greedy little paws on a nice stock of cocobolo, so I plan on using it quite a bit. The stuff takes an AMAZING finish with just a straight 1000 grit sanding and a good buffing..... no oil, nothing. Love it!!

Great looking knife/sheath package

That Cocobolo is very nice.

I also like your photographic style.

Great looking Knife and sheath combo. I like that very much! Be carefull with that Cocobolo, the dust is a nasty, nasty critter.
Cheers Keith

Wow! One of the best looking knives I've seen in a while. The wood you used looks amazing and the way it is inlayed into the sheath is very nice too!

Steve - Thank you. I owe the photo credit to my wife who has a better eye and a much steadier hand than I. She does most the photography.

Keith - I don't seem to be affected the way I know some people can be. For me, its rosewood dust. The dust actually burns my nostrils. However, I've been working with wood for many years and learned long ago to religiously wear a respirator when doing any sort of grinding.

Sharpshooter - I've done a bunch of these wood inlaid sheaths and really like the look. Often, when I'm cutting up knife handle blocks, I'll slice off a 1/4" slab from the handle block then tape them together so I have a matched knife/sheath set for use in the future.

Platypus - That's an incredibly kind compliment.

Thanks all very much.

Very very cool!!! :)

I think if you build this same knife, but with a 10" blade, you'll have a whole new crowd of very serious fans.... ;) :)
