Cocobolo Inlay

I just completed this knife/sheath and I'm quite impressed with this Cocobolo stuff. Boy, does it take a shine!

Sheath: Premium 6-7 oz veg-tanned leather(from RJF), fully leather lined, with a one-piece Cocobolo inlay, polished copper snap, and buffed Mink oil finish.

That is a great design. Great match in the grain of the inlays and the handle!

How does one go about making the inlays stay put? I have a few ideas about gluing it to a thin sturdy piece of material I could drill out (like stiff vulcanized liner or something, maybe very thin micarta spacer or something sturdy.

Bigfattyt- Thank you for the compliment. The inlay is actually cut from an extension of the handle block.

As for the inlay, I glue and stitch them in, then cover them with the glued lining. The inside face is perfectly smooth when I get it right.
