I can't find anywhere that will officially state that the coating on this blade is DLC, they all just generically state that it is a "black coating". Does anyone have one or know if it is actually DLC? Also, I'm assuming it holds up well? Thank you!

The Cold Steel Code 4 Spear Point CPM S35VN is a full-size folding knife built for everyday carry and serious use. The handles are made from Black 6061 Aluminum for lightweight durability and slim, discreet carry. The hollow ground spear point blade offers a high level of utilitarian slicing performance while maintaining plenty of strength for heavier tasks. The Tri-Ad back lock, dual thumb studs and clips make the Code 4 fully ambidextrous and a perfect choice for those looking for a reliable cutting tool for hard use every day of the week. This version comes with a black DLC coated blade and black handles.

Brand new, direct from Cold Steel.

Blade: The black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated, S35VN blade offer well-balanced performance and slices and pierces with ease thanks to a razor sharp hollow grind and nearly full length top swedge. The DLC coating is durable, non-reflective and enhances corrosion resistance. A threaded thumb stud is used for opening and can be adjusted for right or left-handed users.

Handle: Slim and lightweight Aluminum handles house the blade and Tri-Ad back lock mechanism. The handles and back spring are black coated for a classy and discreet look. The self adjusting Tri-Ad lock is rock solid and reliable, integrating a stop pin for added strength. While stiff at first, the lock will break in with use and becomes even more secure over time.

Carries via tip stainless steel pocket clips, left or right-handed.

CPM-S35VN: A modified version of S30V designed for improved toughness over and easier machining and polish. Toughness is improved roughly 15-20%, with a slight decrease in wear resistance (edge retention). Corrosion resistance is also lightly higher, close to AISI 420. S35VN is a well-balanced steel for daily use.

I own one. It's DLC coating and it's tough, though I haven't put it through any particularly rigorous cutting. You won't be disappointed if you buy one. As long as you don't mind smooth handles, it's a great knife.

I've had this one for around 6 months I think. Set it up for left hand carry and put the Snaggletooth on it.

Knife is so thin that it carries very easily. The blade finish has stood up very well since I've had it. I haven't babied this thing and it still looks good. I also like the performance of the S35 steel.

I cut a few random pieces out of a left over piece of decal-grip and stuck them to both sides of the handle. Definitely helps the grip.

Great! I hear CS has some of the best DLC in the business.

Looks great! I do like how thin it is. CS s35vn is good stuff. Yours looks great. Neat how you did the talon grips on there.

Thank you everyone for your help. I purchased one online for a great price, looking forward to getting it.
