Cold Steel, please make one, with the same excellent grind and g10 handles;).Would be excellent edc-self defense knife.

Skateboard tape the handles where you want the extra grip to be. It's easy to do, easy to replace/remove if it wears too much, and doesn't add any noticeable weight or thickness to the knife.

I also think the traction is somewhat lacking (the tape would likely help), but keep in mind that if the scales were G10 it would likely have to be thicker to keep the same level of strength. I am no engineer, but typically when you you some type of plastic or polymer, you have to have metal liners, or have thicker material to make up for the lack of rigidity/strength. My guess is that a Code4 in G10 would lose that thinness that you like. Now an un-coated Recon would be nice too.

Id like recon1, but just thinner and with non coated blade..

The coating comes off quite easily with a simple treatment in Citrus based paint stripper, throw the clip, and lock bar in as well. 15 minutes later you will have a nice stone washed finish. Very, very simple and basic.

Nice to know. I assume that means you have to take the knife apart. Could you just dip the blade into the solution?

Disassembly is required, but it is pretty straight forward. But, if you are unsure or uncomfortable tinkering, I'd advise against it.
