Code 4 S35VN Question

Could be from the difference in blade profiles, clip point vs spear point.
Also, the blade steel is different. They may have tweaked the design during the changeover.

If you are asking if they are genuine, they look perfectly legit to me.

I'm guessing the bottom one is fake =
The font of the Code 4 is different.
The color of the Code 4 is different.
The R is not next to the Code 4 in Cold Steel's pictures.
Bottom one thumb stud is different, and in different position.
Pointed part of spine that goes around stop pin is not on Cold Steel's site, or any authorized CS dealers.
Bottom one handle scales are different color.
The Torx bit hole in pivot bolt on the bottom one is not as crisp, and or sharp for the Torx bit.
Edit: I may be wrong on all accounts, just my observations.

Thanks for reply.
But i don't think it's fake. My seller is reliable.
I suspect there is a manufacturing error. Is it possible?

Not the back. On the front of the blade where it says Code 4.
Curious as to who you bought it from.
Edit: Blade HQ has pics exactly like yours. I'm guessing its just the way they ground it for the stop pin.

Correct. The "R" is on most newer models I`ve seen using googlefu.

If you can, please post a pic of both knives in the open position. You will notice the spine of the blades come out at different angles. Thus, the position of the cutout for the stop pin will appear to be different. But in all likely hood, the frames themselves are identical.

Great comparison pics.

Yes, just as I suspected the spine angles are different. The spear point actually raises up a bit more than the clip thus more material between the stop pin cut out and actual spine. Best viewed in pic #3.

I have an s35vn clip point coming soon to compare...

It’s legit. I got all 3 code 4 with the same steel(xhp), while they are not the latest, the blade has different height hence the spade above the cutout is different. Clip point has lower height, though for my xhp version the space is not as narrow as your s35vn version.
Just don’t get pinched when you open the knife. Sometimes you’ll get bite if your hand happen to land there. This one looks like it’ll hurt since it’s sharp.

:) My Code 4 in XHP with spearpoint looks just like yours in OP . Legit source for mine .

The other I don't have to check . Can't help with the difference . But it is interesting to note .

Interesting find. My XHP Code 4, purchased from a legitimate seller, has the wider tang lip. If I had to guess, and based as well on the photos of the others here, the XHP models have the wider tang lip while the newer S35VN models have the thinner tang lip. I’m sure the Cold Steel moderator here will know for sure.

My pocket clip is not so cool as yours , but probably cost less ! :)

Thanks Doc, hehe. I just wanted a deep-carry clip for my dedicated gentleman carry or whatever the hell that means lol.
No ...really , it IS cool . I like it . :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I just got this thing for CHEAP ! :p From the cradle , I guess .

And sometimes it gets in my way . :(

Here's mine.
Grandma gave me a bit of money for birthday and it bought this one.
Glad I got the xhp version when I did.
I gave it some tlc

The XHP knives are awesome. Also wish I picked up the Recon 1 and American Lawman in XHP before they phased them out.
