Hey guys,

I've noticed that there is a lot of positive feedback from the owners(like me for instance lol) of the Code 4 series. The design is superb, the fit n finish just great. The aluminium is high quality and the the AUS-8 blade's heat treat is top notch. All that for a good pricing, giving this product a awesome quality/price ratio.

ROCK ON COLD STEEL!

but here goes...Who would love to see this series getting a ''sprint run'' or a step up option? The steel junkie in me would squeal at the idea of getting a Code 4 with high end titanium and a super stainless steel blade...I'd be willing to pay 3x as much for such a version...hands down! Who's with me man...who's with me!!! :)

I can't give any hints about future products, but as a colleague of mine is fond of saying "you never know what the future may bring" :D

A titanium handle would be nice but not necessary. Just give me a better blade steel. CPM-M4 would be ideal IMO.

Plus one here. The Alumin(i)um handle is fine, maybe they could water-jet texture it or something... but stick a higher end blade-steel on it, and voila... Personally, I think Elmax, or CPM-154, but... :)

if it had to be a carbon steel, since they probably order high quality from japan to save on transport to their Taiwanese factory, it could be something like superblue or superwhite steel. But I'd like something more stain resistant the AUS8, like CTS-20CP or CTS-204P or M390 still. Yet, VG10 would be just fine, it is a great all around. While it is true that the aluminium handle are superb, Titanium would still be a cool step up in strength. It is 200% stronger for a mere 60% weight increase.

It can't be a non stainless steel. If it was M4, there would be a rash of threads containing "Cold Rusty Steel".

Maybe they can get their old Japanese connects to make some VG-10 or ZDP blades for them.

ZDP would kill in some of their thinner ground knives.

I just almost bought a code 4 spear point. I absolutely love the design and am guessing it would be about the most useable knife around. If there was a sprint run with a better steel (alrhough i love cold steel aus 8) and maybe titanium scales (no texture though, I love the flat look and doubt the slickness matters with cold steels perfect finger grooves) I would definitely buy it.

I couldn't be happier with my Code 4 Tanto, I'd love a clip point in VG-10 or some other steel... Anodized scales would be col too...

Yeah lets switch from the code 4 to the AK 47 and you have got it!! In all seriousness a simple steel upgrade option in each folder would do it for me. This AUS 8 has been tough as nails for me and I mean tough. Ive used my AK harder than ank CRK, benchmade or spydy ive ever owned. And it has surpassed all of the in durability. However I have mastered getting the current steel hair splitting sharp. Today i went right through two zip ties and into my thumb bone. First cut in about a year. Thanks to my new Strop finishing that edge off!

I think the Code 4 needs CPM-3V, they apparently already have a supplier for it, so maybe they could have whoever makes the CPM-3V for them ship it out to Taiwan, Spyderco already did that, but not Cold Steel?
It'd have satisfactory edge holding for almost everyone and still be ungodly tough.

+1.. I dont care what happens, just dont touch the current base line up prices or steel.. Unless its a discount! :)

If they ever offer a step up option, I don't how it would prevent them from offering the regular line still guys? They are doing it with many of their products, no need to worry...

There is definitely a market for high end materials + couple with Cold Steel designs = mind blown right there guys lol

I'm perfectly happy with the way things are now and current price points. Heat treat is the important thing with any steel, and Cold Steel has definitely got the heat treat right for their AUS 8A. No need to muddy the waters with steel upgrades and sprint runs that just drive the prices up.

No offense Mister Sastre, but in regards to Cold Steel products, wouldn't that be like saying say, why pay extra cash for a ''Custom Crafted Concealex Sheath'' when cold steel produces seure-ex sheath with their blades?

Maybe it's just me, but I fail to see how a sprint run, or a step line, would hype the cost of the regular one? I do agree that cold Steel gets the heat treat real good. As a matter of fact, I just can't wait to see what other model in CPM-3V(a definitive ''step up'' steel with a undoubtedly great heat treat) will come out of their Warcraft line.
