Code 4 vs Mini Recon 1

I'm thinking of picking up a Cold Steel Code 4 or Mini Recon 1 and can't decide which one I like best. I like the look and the thin profile of the Code 4, however, I think it may be a little too large for me. I prefer something in the 7" range. As for the Recon 1, the size is right and the thinner handle makes it easier to carry, but I wonder if the thinner handle (i.e. Mini Recon 1 was 12mm and is now 10mm thick) sacrifices a significant amount of strength. I'm primarily looking for an EDC, but one that could endure hard use. What are your thoughts? Is the 10mm handle on the Mini Recon 1 strong enough for hard use? Is the larger size of the Code 4 too much? I appreciate any comments.

I have both in clip point AUS-8A and enjoy them. The Code4 is exactly the same shape (handle and blade) as the mini recon 1, just much larger and much skinnier and different handle material.

Having a desk job I carry the Mini Recon 1 much more often, but carry the Code4 in more home-improvement situations or outdoorsy activities. Not sure this is the response you were seeking, but maybe it'll help you choose.

Thank you for your thoughts. I have the Mini Recon 1 in AUS-8A as well and when I saw that they have come out with it in CTS-XHP, my original intent was to get one of those. Then I discovered the Code 4. I think I'm leaning to the Mini Recon 1 due to the size, but the fact that the handle is now 10mm makes me wonder about its strength.
