I mis-typed the heading, it's CONDOR (sorry) Is anyone familiar with this brand. Handled a couple of fixed blade models at a local shop and really liked the heft and feel of them but had not previously heard of them. Was going in to buy a BM Nimravus Cub but after seeing the Condor wanted to seek the advice of the experts here before buying it instead.
The literature with it says the steel is 1095 which I'm not familiar with either.
Did a Web search and found a Martiini Condor from Finland but that's not it. These are a fixed blade, black-T coated with gray laminated scales. The blades are heavy, probably 3/16 or better thick with saw teeth on the rear portion of the spine and were around $100. By comparison, pricewise, the guy was asking $125 for the BM Cub.
Thanks for any input!
Rich

Condor was a line of knives (made in Japan) put out by I think by the old Blackjack (Ill.) company about 10-15 years ago. Fixed blads and large folders. Excellent knives that had quality grey leather sheaths and grey micarta scales with stainless (aus8?) blades with good lines. I still have a couple in my collection I picked up at gunshows for $25-$35. They never caught on, about the same with BK's until they went under and everyone found out what a excellent knife for the money they were. Are we talking the same brand here? Weldonk

Thanks for the reply. Doesn't sound like it would be the same. The dealer had several styles, all new. They had Kydex snap in sheaths with a spring belt clip and the literature said the steel was 1095. The one I liked was called "Tactical". Unfortunately the kid behind the counter didn't know anything about these or any of the other knives in the shop.
Thanks,
Rich
