Yes, I really wanted to keep the traditional coffin handle look, but I felt that I wanted a tactile indication of where the handle ends and the blade/edge starts. This way it is much easier to choke up on the blade without looking and the Rogue blade works really well choked up, a bit like a kitchen knife. In terms of material removed, it is actually everything but subtle. In order to get the transition nice and even and to preserve the coffin handle shape, the handle had to be ground back towards the pommel quite some ways. Waaaaay to much material to remove with hand tools, so I was really happy and very, very grateful to BRKT that they were willing to do the job for me. All I had to do was provide a little drawing with the outline of the knife and another line that showed what I wanted. Excellent, excellent customer service .
The way it is now is actually also a very good woodcraft tool. It is on the large side but that offers the option of chopping (it has very decent chopping power for its weight), which is really outside the means of a 4-5" blade, and it still retains control for finer work. The Rogue actually has a very fine tip.
But I am rambling :foot:.
