Here is the first dagger I have ever completed. It was built for the CKG Toronto show. The images were created by Rob Garbaty as his first intro into knife photography. I think he did a great job and I look forward to see more of his work.

As you can see this dagger was strongly influenced by Mike Quesenberry's daggers. The blade is 10-1/2" long and made from ladder patterned damascus of 304 layers of 1095 and 15N20. The damascus was made under the watch full eye of my good friend and teacher Paul Savage. The overall lenght of the knife is 15-1/2". The damascus frame handle has stainless liners and Mammoth ivory scales. The guard and spacers are made from 152 layer random damascus with a coined stainless accent. It is all held together with stailless pins.

Thanks for looking and comments are welcomed,

James

That is gorgeous ! I can sure see the Quesenberry influence in there. Great job for a first attempt at a dagger.

Very nice dagger! I can also see the Quesenberry influence in there.

I think the photo might be nicer if the tip was at a downward angle, but that might just be my preference for knife photos.

Very nice. Mike makes some of the best daggers, so you cant go wrong with his influence.

Extremely nice in every respect.
To see a Mike Quesenberry influence is to see a Tim Hancock influence.:thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you everyone,

This was a fun build and learning experience. Hopefully I can build more in the future.

I also agree that tip down makes a better photo, thank you for the suggestion. Like my knives which I try to improve with each new one, I only see Rob's images getting better. My hope is that he becomes a viable source for images for other Canadian knife makers also.

Pleased to say this one will be joining my dagger collection. James is making a sheath for it this weekend, looking forward to seeing the knife and sheath together.

This is a truly beautiful and VERY well made dagger...and it looks even better in person! Congrats Rick, this will make a killer addition to a seriously impressive collection!

Still waiting to add a Mike Ruth Jn to the collection.
