Here's one just finished for a fellow forum member. Light and fast bowie with 7 1/4" long by 3/16" thick O1 blade and cocobolo handle. Thanks for looking.

When I see this knife, I'm reminded why your one of my favorite knife makers. Really nice knife

This is an inspiration. I'm working on my first coffin handle bowie right now. It will be at the Eugene show in April. I'm excited about this, after seeing the jewel of a knife you just created. Thanks for sharing.

I'll give a write-up when it gets here. It's a birthday gift for my wife so no talking. Ray is great to work with. You owe it to yourself to get a knife from him, but not one of the ones I want :-)

Man, who's cool wife likes knives enough to get her own custom bowie? That sounds like a keeper!

He he, just don't try to take her toys. She would USE her knives over that. Over many days while reading books on the social customs of the Apache in 1870. While getting the bed of coals from the campfire ready. Yep, knifes, guns, swords, optics, armor... The problem is it is REAL hard to sneak anything into the house. "And where did that falling block single shot come from?"
Back to the knifes. In addition to his regular patterns that I have bought, Ray made a custom Sax for me (see his photo pages), it's real nice and he was fun to work with.

Ohhhhhhhh thats nice! I really like the sweap of the blade along with the handle. very clean and looks good.

Well, the birthday was here. I liked when she took out her jeweler's loupe to examine the fit of the guard to the blade :-) It passed inspection. She spent almost as much time looking over the sheath as the knife. Feel like making a sword sheath Ray? She likes your leather-work too. She also liked the "classic" blade and grip shape. It turns out I picked the right time to get it for her. She was feeling a bit left out after the last two gift knives I ordered from Ray. He he, knife jealousy. :-)
It was a hit. (and a jealousy killer) Thanks Ray.
