Well i just got into this axe collecting. Bought a nice double bit Zenith that was cleaned up nicely but had a little to much shine for me. So i thought to myself hey try some Cold Gun Bluing. I put a couple coats on and the metal got nice and dark.

Buffed it out a little and hit it with gun oil. It sure looks good. Any one else do this. I just wanted to make it look better for display.

If you check in the Trail hawk mod thread it has a few blued hawks in it. The sticky at the top of the forum.

Best regards and welcome

Robin

Thanks for the replies gentleman. I have yet to post pics. But will shortly as i have aquired some nice big broad head axes.

I have cold blued several hawks (and other small things that seemed to "need it"). I like it, pretty easy to do, cheap, and simple enough for me.

I also got the hint to use graphite paint and like that on hawks I'm going to use a lot that I want a more slick/tactical look.
