Does anyone have any information on the effects of cold forging a blade before heat treating? I ran across an article from Darrel Ralph many years ago that had him experimenting with cold forging the edges of D2 blades, but I dont remember the result. He was trying it on some other steels, but appeared to be concentrating on D2 for the article. The reduction was small. He's the only one I have ever heard of doing this kind of work.
