Hey guys.

Like to hear feedback on two different knives if you have any experience with them: Fehrman's Cold Fury and Cold Steel's San Mai III Recon Tanto. Love to hear about steel performance differences, overall design, materials, etc. Sole use will be for military/combat use as a sentry removal fighting knife. I have heard good things from guys I deploy with on both knives. Thought I'd see if anyone cares to share their experiences since I don't want to buy both and try them out myself. Instead I'll read over others experiences and select from that. There's a big price difference but I'm more interested in how the blade lays/performs in the hand and how well it will maintain performance over time. I'm interested in longevity/relability. It cannot fail when called upon. The knife needs to maintain in rough conditions and still be able to perform.

Thanks to any who take time to respond.

For those who don't know the knives but want to follow the thread & know how they look:

It's hard to compare a US made midtech knife to an overseas mass production knife.

3V is normally considered a super steel and very good for hard use fixed blade knives. Over long periods of time between sharpenings the 3V blade should last longer. I'm not speaking from experience, just what I have read many times around here. So if durability is a concern I would lean to the Cold Fury.
