Cold or rust bluing

Anyone have suggestions on the practicality of these finishes on a chopper. Will it just wear off or will it actually help prevent rust? Also if anyone has pics of any khukuri blued, I'd really like to see them. Looked through the forum but didn't see any. Thanks
 
Here Is a cheap Indian kukri that i did for a project. I cold blued it with brownells Oxpho-Blue. It is very wear resistant. It requires carding it with #0 steel wool between coats.
It took adout 6 coats to get a nice uniform coat. It will work on a high polish or a rough one it doesn't matter. By pre oxideing the surface it will wake a knife more rust resistant.

I've blued my H.I. Bowie. I will try to remember to take some pics tonight and post them tomorrow. I also used Oxpho-Blue.

Rub marks are due to the sheath. Here is what it looked like before I started:
