Been a lurker years ago on this forum and haven't been on as knife collecting has kinda fell by the wayside over the past years. Anyways, cleaning out my basement and found that I have a late 90's Cold Steel LTC Kurki that had the Carbon V and Made in USA still in original box with leather sheath. I believe back in my high school days I bought the knife for camping (and because it looked badass) but my friends all gave me shit about using a 200 dollar knife for camping. Ended up buying a $30 dollar hatchet from Canadian tire and the Kukri has been sitting in the box since. Factory edge, never used or sharpened.

Was gonna sell it for cheap locally since i don't need such a big knife anymore and thought it wasn't worth much. However upon my research in getting a folder, I've read that old carbon v models are fetching a premium on ebay. Just wondering how much these things are selling for currently in new condition along with original box and factory edge.

On a sidenote, also found a lightly used carbon v SRK in the LTC's box but that's one knife I will definitely hang onto given how highly regarded the carbon V model of this knife is :)

Thanks! Debating whether or not to sell the LTC now. i will have no use for it unless a zombie apocalypse comes haha

not selling on here. was just wondering how much these things were worth since i was originally planning to post it on kijiji for $100 bucks until i stumbled on the news about the value of carbon v models during my research of cold steel folders this week

If i sell I'd likely try to do it locally as I am not experienced in selling on ebay or online and don't want to have to deal with shipping and paypal transactions. However not sure there is much of a local market for cold steel knives.

haha when i bought it years ago that was my intention. i believe it costed $200 canadian at a local knife store at that time. When I was packing it for camping all my friends called me an idiot for bringing a $200 knife to cut wood. So i ended up buying a crappy $30 for camping instead lol. This has been sitting in a box in my basement and i forgot i even had it until I started clearing out my basement last weekend. SRK i'll def keep and use as it is a handy tool. the LTC since it's in unused condition and appears to have become more of a collectible, i'll try to sell it and put money towards and edgepro or something

I am certain it would fetch a premium on BF or Flea-bay, but selling locally will probably net you the least money. I find typically local folks are not enthusiasts as people are here, and value things like this much less because of that.
