Cold Steel AK-47 (Pommel)

Ok guys, I have a CS AK-47 (older aluminum handled version) with the grivory pommel. I was wondering how many of you who own the AK-47 have experienced any problems with the pommel cracking or breaking. Mine has been fine thus far but for such a heavy duty, tank-like folder I thought it'd be cool to get a steel, aluminum or maybe even titanium pommel machined for it. Anyone have something like this done to theirs or know who could machine one for me? Thanks in advance!

I have one of the older models in g10 and so far no problems with the pommel. I've seen pics of machined aluminum examples and the new Triad equipped models have the aluminum pommel as well. Know any metal fabricators? You may want to look locally for somebody who can make one for you. I wonder if STR would be willing to make something like that for you.

I've had mine for a year and a half still holding up fine and I have pounded with it a lot and other tasks.still no cracks some minor chips/dents but a ok.works good as a fish hook in a defensive roll to

Mine cracked and broke basically when I got it. I had not been the same since. Cold Steel offered to take care of it for me but it never was one of my favorite knives so I didn't do anything about it. A piece eventually fell off where the pommel had cracked in half and that piece that fell off did not have any pins through it. I then filed the very sharp edge down smooth so it wouldn't eat my pants and subsequently my leg. Anyway, just take it from one who knows it CAN break but CS will take care of it for you if it does.
