I have just ordered 3 COLD STEEL ak 47's for 29.99 a piece (thought it was a good deal) and have only handled this knife once years ago. I haven't recieved the knives yet, but can't wait and would love to hear anything about it . please review it , send pics and comments -thank you

That's an excellent deal. The blade shape isn't useful for my purposes and it's a bit on the heavy side. The wave on it works great though. Awesome knife, just not for me. I sell a lot of them to carpenters, construction workers, etc. and they all love them. :)

By contrast, I know a lot of people don't like it but I LOVE my folding Bushman, and it's probably about the same weight. Different blade style though.

Its a really big and heavy folder that is probably bombproof. Thats a good price, from what I remember from years ago they were much more expensive.

MSRP was around $100, so that's less than dealer pricing by a decent amount. It's like being payed to take it!

the ones with an aluminum handle are being discontinued and sold at this price from a popular knife place in tennessee. I thought at this price i couldn't go wrong

Got a friend who carries and loves this knife... like the others commented it is a bit heavy but the wave/action is great/fast. That's a really good deal too.

Thanks alot guys, guess what I just had to research on the internet, find the deal the OP mentioned, and purchase. Oh well, at least I got a good deal....so in a sense BladeForums saved me money...yeaaahh...;)

It's huge and the new model is G-10 instead of aluminum frame so they are closing out. Great deal.

I got my $29.99 cold steel ak-47 earlier this week. It's a knife I've been wanting to try for 2 years but I did not want to spend as much as they were going for. While I'm happy with the deal I'm also glad I only spent $29.99 on it. I don't ever see my self carrying this knife but I will leave in my truck for... just a truck knife.
Out of the box it felt like a solid knife. I went to hack at some paint stirring sticks and there was side to side blade play immidiately. I hate the pommel. When opening the knife using the wave the pommel catches my pinky and find myself fumbling with it more than "tactically deploying" the blade *jerkit here. Unless you want to karambit flip with the lanyard hole pinched between your fingers while you wave out the knife, damn those two features all together. Seriously I could karate kick someone in the face faster than I could wave and get a secure grip on this knife. I removed the pommel to dremel it flush with the handle and found that the two screws at the bottom of the knife were very loose to begin with. Opening the knife with the thumb thing works great and is fast. Unlocking the knife one handed isn't as easy and feels rough mid way through closing. The blade came razor sharp and remaind that way after my little wook hacking deal. All in all, not a bad deal for what I paid for it but if I had a chance to handle one beforehand I would have put that money towards something else.
