cold steel ak47 question

i just bought a cold steel ak47 knife for my dad, the older one and its a really nice knife and after playing with it for a while it seems that all you have to do to open the knife is flick your wrist down and jerk up real quick rather than using the thumbdisk or wave i was wondering if this means theres gonna be a problem in the future, somethings loose, or thats just the way the knife is designed, personly i think it is a cool feature if that is how its suposed to happend but im not quite sure
 
havent yet had any experience with the benchmades but the lock is pretty interesting i dont touch the lock when opening though?
 
Don't have an AK, but a lot of people flick open their knives and report no excessive wear.
