cool knife, I only know it from this CS Kukri history topic and it mentions an ultra rare AUS8 version (in stead of Carbon V), but the author couldn't verify it's existence. I guess this item verifies it and I think $350 is a great price for this NIB collectors item. Still I'd rather have the Gurkha Kukri San Mai III for that money, I like the GK blade design better.

Haha funny two of these rare pieces are for sale at the same time, makes you question the ultra rarity (though you might also actually find 2 Ferrari's 250 GTO for sale at the same time, just don't ask for the price)

I have had one since they came out, I think I ordered mine in 1996. I did not realize they were out of production until recently. At the time they were around $130 to $180, if memory serves. They are outstanding for their intended use; "All Terrain Chopper" kukri. I have used mine on every extended hunting/fishing, or camping trip I have gone on for years. If you come across one and decide to get it, you won't be disappointed with it. It will last your lifetime and someone else's.

I was surfing for historical info on the Cold Steel ATC Kukri & stumbled on this page, so I joined just to comment. I bought one of these in "Carbon V" more than 30 years ago, used, as a trade-in at a gun shop & having been a CS fan at the time, I had to have it. Paid $80 for it in like new condition. It has been a fierce chopper, & holds an edge well. I once sawed down a Mountain Maple sapling to use as a hiking stick, laid it across a decaying stump & with one swing, went cross grain through the 1.5" thick butt, & buried the knife about 2" into the stump. It was like magic & I laughed right out loud! I own the current model as well, but this ATC is more "weight-forward" & chops better!
