Here's some pics I finally got around to taking of it. Really nice little sword. About 30oz and 25" OAL

Did you see the pics of Dave's etch. Really well done. Sweet knife. I want one bad.

Dagnabbit I am having trouble justifying big blades anymore. I don't get to chop enough, and I don't make sheaths for the biggies. I kinda feel lost.

I considered one of these and ended up getting their Butterfly Swords which are very, very nice. I may take a look at this one again. Thanks for the pics.

Beautiful photography, Ted.... OMG, I really like that. I wa- . No.

A prewar J.P. Sauer & Sohn K98 is calling... louder.

Only slightly louder.

Dang, I really like that.

Is the knife made by contract to Cold Steel in another location?

Your pictures are good, Ted, artistic. The arrangments are nice- all that stuff- but you create a nice ....homey look.

Yes, they are made under contract for Cold Steel, but I'm not sure where they are made. Either China or India, but I don't know for sure.

Thanks for the kind words on the photography. It's still not quite where I'd like it to be. I need more depth of field and I can't find the attachment for my tripod to let me shoot low enough.

I have a Barong as well but its a 2nd with the solid wooden sheath, I really like it. Its alot of fun use. Nice score.

CS weapons have a hit or miss reputation but a few of them are actually extremely good, especially considering the cost. The Barong is one of those. Even if the blade was crap, the wood on the handle and scabbard are usually quite striking, especially with a bit of woodchucking.

My etch was interesting because it showed something...well, odd. Perhaps it was an artifact of the manufacturing process. I don't believe that it was intentional.

I don't know the proper way to use one of these but it feels most natural in a saber grip, even on swings. I would prefer it to be a few ounces lighter in the blade but it's fine as it is. What say you, Ted?
