Cold Steel Black Bear Classic?

I was in a pawn shop today and they had a Black Bear Classic by Cold Steel on display. The price was under $200 which is lower by half then their web site. This knife was sharpened all the way up the back ( spline) does this make it a dagger? Also is that the normal design, to have both edges sharp?http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif

The Black Bear Classic is a double edged knife normally...They are making the BBC in VG-1 San Mai III stainless now but I believe that it was made in AUS 8-A stainless previously. Do you know which type of steel it was?

I know that there are many different dealers that offer lower prices on Cold Steel items than you could get through Cold Steel directly.

Thanks. I don't know about the material what should I look for to know the difference?

If it is made from VG-1 San Mai III there will be a lamination line running from the point to the guard or opposite end of the blade.
The line is just slightly above the edge of the blade

The Black Bear doesn't have a spline? It does however have a sharpened spine. keepem sharp
