Dear friends,

Just got an EDC about 2 weeks ago. The Cold Steel Black Talon. San Mai 3, extremely sharp, spring leaf locking mechanism.

A little heavy when carried around in my pocket. It has G-10 scale handles that ensures a superb grip. Quite easy to open once pulled out of pocket, strong flick downwards into reverse grip.

Overall rating: 8/10

Only downward point is that the bolsters and frame scratches easily.

My 2 cents. Any bros out there care to share their experience in the Cold Steel Custom series blades.

Yeah I have one, and it's just one heck of a blade, VERY solid, easy to open.

I also have a Hatamoto I use in my EDC/SD rotation, fantastic knife.

Cold Steels Custom series have San Mai III Steel blades, Titanium Bolsters and Linings and are super tough and lock up like a bank vault.

My Black Talon

Hatamoto

Both together with a Recon 1

Decent quality, but horribly overpriced compared to other pieces on the market. IMHO. None of them impress me quite enough to drop that many bills on them when there are so many other wonderful knives out there for much less. :)

You can get them for better prices off of Amazon and the prices are right inline with other blades in the same quality range.
