Laredo or Natchez. I want to buy one but can't find any. They gone forever?

I'm new to Cold Steel and unfortunately it seems CS is dead as soon as I arrived with GSM. Is this true? I'm coming over as a Spyderco user. I just got sick of Spyderco's pretension and constant price hikes, so I dumped those knives on Ebay and used the money from the sales to buy a few CS knives in the recent Midwayusa closeout sale, and sniped two off Ebay. Fortunately everything I got is LT era.

Is Lynn even still affiliated? If not, who is in charge of product design? Has Lynn completely retired?

Lynn Thompson still makes videos for or with Cold Steel (GSM). They have new product releases for 2022 a Leatherneck Bowie with Lynn's signature and a new Spartan serrated with Lynn's signature.

You can still find the Oyabun Limited, which has very good upgrades over the regular model, at a good price. It has Lynn's signature and will be numbered between 1 and 3500. The Cold Steels I got recently have had the new logo and address, but the same quality as before.

Ok, I really want both of those Lynn signature blades. When and where will they be available? Is there a link to them on CS website?

I haven't seen any new Natchez or Laredo's at reputable dealers for months, over a year or more maybe? Not sure if they are making them, but I can't find any new ones around in retail spaces.

I did treat myself to a used Carbon V Laredo a few months back. the Laredo is probably my favorite big BAK. There are plenty of them out there in the secondary market, just don't jump on an overpriced one - they do come up pretty regularly if you look in the right places. Even on eBay the prices vary quite a bit. I wouldn't dump $500 on a Chinese O-1 or SK5, when a San Mai or CV can be had for less if patient.

Found it only here. I guess it hasn't released yet.

CS is kind of dead but not entirely, like a zombie. Lynn Thompson supposedly is an employee of the new owners, doing mostly videos.

You can find second-hand Laredo and Natchez bowies on fleabay or custom knife sites like arizonacustomknives. ACK is a good dealer, fast shipping, good website. I don't think there are any on there right now but wait a few months, they'll show up.

The new ones are supposed to be coming soon in crappy 4034 stainless, along with CPM3V. But we've all been waiting a long time. It's probably been at least a half dozen years since the last new ones were sold on dealer sites.

Dang. I'd grab one in 3v. I'm really not interested in 4034 for that kind of knife. I hope the new owners don't convert totally to 4034.

4034 is roughly similar to 420HC. Given a proper heat treatment for the design goals, i.e., relatively soft for toughness over edge-holding, it will likely perform just fine in the blade of a large fighting knife.

Personally, I think they missed the mark. 3V is overkill for a fighter, and 4034 is only just acceptable. I think the A2 we were promised would have been better as an all-around steel for a single model of the knives.
While it will be interesting to see how they perform in the hands of real-world users, it's also important to note that the Natchez and Laredo are pure fighters, and not designed for long-term outdoor survival.
I got tired of waiting for the new Natchez and moved on.....
