Anyone handle or own a CS BH?

Is it double edged?

The text on their side is ambiguous. It looks single edged because of the jimping.

How is the sheath? Can it work as an IWB?

Thanks

Chris

I had one and did NOT like it.

It's single edged.
The sheath is not great.

It could work as an IWB, but IMO there are many far better choices.

I was very disappointed in the BraveHeart; I thought it would be at least as good as the Culloden and Mini-Culloden. But both of those are better than the Braveheart.

Balance and weight were somewhat off.

Handle felt weird - couldn't get a good grip on it.

(This is a knife I really wanted to like, by the way.)

Sheath was not low profile enough to carry as a necker.

Tang was not "swept" like the Cullodens. Meaning very slightly bent so you can feel just from the handle whether the cutting edge is up or down.
(Without having to look at the knife.)

With the BraveHeart, you can draw and have the freakin' edge up in the air when you think it's facing down! (Or vice-versa of course.)

Really had to tug way too much to get the knife out of the sheath.
Too little of the handle exposed.

Thanks,
That is the kind of details that could help me make a more informed decision.
Do you do any kind of FMA? I thought it looked really good for that style.

As to what I think are better choices, it depends a lot on what you're looking for.

You can still find a Camillus Terzuola CQB-1 on the 'bay for about a hundred bucks new in the box. Definitely IWB carry. There's a great knife IMO. Maybe a little big for EDC though.

The Bark River Bravo.

The Benchmade Activator.

We'll probably hear from some other members re: good choices for IWB carry.
(You might want to start a new thread asking for recommendations; also you can use the Search function to see what's been posted on the topic.)

It does look good for that style...

There are folks here on BF who are really knowledgable when it comes to FMA, I'll defer to them.

The BM resistor was one I was looking at.

The CQB-1 is a little big for what I am looking for.

Thanks

Chris

I've got a Resistor coming this week, really looking forward to it.

Have had my eye on that knife for a while.

Also would like to mention custom maker Eddie White.
His Model IX could be what you're looking for, especially the double edge version.

A lot of forum members (including yours truly) have bought knives from him.
I'm sure he could set you up with IWB carry. Check it out, www.shadowknives.com

Let me know how that feels.

The sheath accepts a teklok and that offers multiple positions.

how are you going to carry it?

It's supposed to arrive tomorrow Fedex Ground.

I'm going to look it over, handle it a bit, and then decide how I'm going to carry it.

Will post and let you know how it feels.

Brave hart isn bad… thin, yes, mediocre sheath, probably
Good as EDC utility blade, if resheathed.
Dont know much about FMA, but have you considered Blackhawk Kalista?

So this knife arrived...

It's a great knife for what it is, I think of it as a hunting knife or utility all around knife, not so much a fighting or tactical knife.

Typical great Benchmade fit and finish, shaving sharp right out of the box.

Don't know enough about FMA to say whether it would be suitable for that; but it sure as all heck is a nicer knife than the Braveheart. Although at 3X the price, I would hope and expect so.

I don't think I'm going to use this knife, I think I'll either give it as a gift or sell it. Really much prefer the Instigator (also a Snody design) in many ways, although of course the Resistor is a "better" knife.
