didnt they make a smaller one than the 12 inch one? If so where can i find 1? I think i saw one in cliff spear post imbedded in a log? so what was it called and where can i get one at?

It is/was called the Mini Bushman. CS doesn't seem to carry it any more, but some stores still have stock.

I bought last year a Mini Bushman. I tried it in the field (light bushwork), but it's edge holding ability was worse than a cheap chinese folder's blade - so I threw it away. :(

The steel is softer than most cutlery alloys so it will behave more like a machete, however the performance should not be that low. Initial edges can often be the cause, sometimes a full sharpening solves the problem.

I have had a full size bushman for a few years now and I have found that mine keeps a pretty good edge. I have used my Lansky sharpening kit on it atleast 6-7 times, and every time that razor edge comes right back. This knife is a great light wieght all around good camp knife.
