Yesterday my neighbor saw there was a black cobra heading to my house, I hit it with the staff but the staff(probably rotten) broke in half, then I remember I have a bushman spear and take it out, then he borrow the spear from me and used it to chop the cobra rapidly. The cobra have a big aggressive sound, and I never see any cobra this big despite encounter with multiple snake intruder before.

The blade, despite hitting hard on the ground with rocks and sand, only slightly chipped. I sharpened some of the chip away but still have some left. I am planning to get another one for sure.

I live in SE Asia, so no guns here. This does safe the day and no one injured, and didn't need to call the expert for this.

Cool stuff buddy. I can just hold it together enough to handle a Garter snake................... I was HALO dropped into the Kremlin once. I got to Putin just as he was about to do a North American nuclear launch. I Karate chopped him across the neck with the spine of my Bushman. He was out, so I ripped the launch panel apart with the Bushman, which rendered it inoperable.
😊

Yikes indeed!

Am I the only one thinking of "Rikki Tikki Tavi"?

That film kinda freaked me out as a little kid.

I'm glad you and yours are safe TheFun957. Had to be done. Better safe than sorry.

I think cobras look way cool, but still, yikes.

Very impressive use of the Bushman .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm not surprised the Bushman could handle the job , but not many people would have the courage to face a big Cobra with only that .
Judging by the pic it was attached to the spear. Still pretty gnarly. Brass ones for sure.

More like room temperature, at least this one. ;)

(yes, yes, I know it's cold blooded so it doesn't really apply....)

I'd prefer them ice cold. The idea of them coming into ones house gives me the willies.

Being a city boy (suburbs really) the most dangerous critters I've come into contact with are black widow spiders, and the occasional rat. In my camping/hiking days I encountered rattlesnakes and scorpions, but those days are long past for me (and I don't miss them).

On a different note- after posting my last post I went searching for "Rikki Tikki Tavi" online. Found it for free and watched it. Hadn't seen it in at least 3 decades. I enjoyed it, it was cute. Certainly not as scary as when I was seven. I was surprised how short it is, just 24 minutes. And I'm surprised Hollywood hasn't remade it into a full length feature.

Stab and Slash and Release! Good conservation practice!

The stick with a modern pointy thing on the end is a great thing to have around I guess. I don't think to many people make good affordable quality mountable pointy stick ends and in quantity like CS.
