I'm not an expert on handling katanas but....
I kind of like the one I have, it certainly has a heft to it. I bought mine because I wanted a short katana instead of a wakizashi sized sword. It is thicker and wider than a standard katana, balance is more cut oriented. Dynasty Forge makes a nice one, you need to check it out before committing the chisa. They call it Ko katana.

Dynasty Forge is a good place to look. Also, Cheness has a few different Ko Katana options and I noticed that Kris Cutlery even has one offered now.
