So here is my take on the counterpoint 2. The knife definitely feels a lot smaller than I expected. I am surprisingly able to get a full 4 fingered comfortable grip on it. In all grip positions, it is very comfortable.. when the full size version comes out, I am sure it will be even more comfortable. The clip rides a bit high, especially for how small it is.

I was really impressed by the overall F + F of this knife, but I did notice that the blade wasn't 100% perfectly centered.. not a big deal for me. Rock solid lockup as expected, but very easy to flick open without even moving your wrist/hand! no play in any direction. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting all that much out of this knife, mostly anticipating it's big brother, but this knife is a 10/10 for me! I did remove the pocket clip and reprofiled the edge to 30* inclusive with a 40* microbevel, which is what I usually do on AUS8 blades. I then stropped it to a mirror polish. The grivory is really nice, and textured more for looks than for real traction IMO, but I trust more in ergonomics than texturing anyhow. I really do prefer Grivory over standard FRN b/c it is less cheap feeling.

One thing I'd like to note is a really convenient groove for the thumb on the butt of the knife, if you were to hold it in icepick grip. I don't know why I ever would, but still, it is interesting. Clip is tip-up only but left-right reversible. Standard CD super strong clip. Another thing to note too is that the pivot on this knife takes not the usual torx, but the smaller one usually used for fastening clips. I highly doubt this hardened piece of steel will fail though, especially considering the small size of this knife. It has a saber grind, flat grind from just a bit higher than 1/2 of the width. Also features a SERE-like prominent false edge in the business half of the blade. Another thing too, is that the CS website lists the thickness as 3.5mm, but it definitely is 3mm thickness.

Now I know there are a lot of pictures of this knife up, but I am going to put up a few different ones.

You can see the thickness of the liners here: (which is amazing because it is so dagone light!)

Here you can see size comparisons with a medium voyager and a minigrip

Here it is with a hair I whittled with it (sorry for poor quality)

And here it is with toilet paper it was able to push cut:

thanks for the review res1cue

I would like to see some in hand pics as well if you are not to busy,

based on the handle of the knife, how do you like the feel / ergos of the handle shape, more specifically do you think the larger version would be a little better or worst

I have one and it's a good deal for the money if you like the style of the knife. It feels very nice in the ice pick grip; the thumb indentation is a pleasing detail.

I don't feel it opens nearly as smoothly as a Spyderco and it's stiff and requires a lot of pressure to close.

While the counter point isn't exactly my style I must give Cold Steel credit for producing such a affordable knife with very respectable F&F I realy am impressed with Cold Steels current folder lineup there seems to be a folder for almost every taste( the Med. Voyager is my favorite).

In hand picture will be up in a few days, after I get back home from thanksgiving. If you have the mini grip, it feels just like it, with a slightly less blade width, and probably a more comfortable handle.
