Just picked up a Cold Steel stockman knife just for a beater knife at work, Just wondering... Who is making these for Cold Steel?

The Sears Craftsman brand which are currently available with the wood handles are in the case with the Schrade knives so I would guess that they are made by Schrade, I bring this up for the reason that other than the steel and handle material difference, there is no other difference between the Cold Steel & Craftsman knife...Well that and the cost!

Sears does carry nowadays other brands such as Victorinox, so I thought that maybe Camillus could be involved in here somewhere...?

Craftsman knives are made by Camillus!!! Camillus is awesome!!!

I don't know who makes the Cold STeel stockmans, and Schrade makes their own knives.

Craftsman knives are made from 420, the same stuff in the 420 Arclite and much of the other "traditional" knives that Camillus makes. I think Cold Steel's stockmans are carbon V, which leads me to believe that Camillus once again is the manufacturer, if even just for the blades. Cold Steel and the companies that make the blades for Cold STeel won't reveal where their knives are made, but Cold Steel's carbon V knives like the SRK and such are made by Camillus, as far as I know. So I think the safest bet is that Camillus makes the COld STeel stockmans and such too.

Schrade stockmans and such are carbon steel I think (1095). Lots of guys prefer carbon for these blades. If you are a whittler, then you definitely want the carbon. For EDC, I think that "inexpensive" stainless steels are fine. I love my SAK! I want a Camillus YelloW Jacket Stockman, A Camillus carbon series Stockman, and a few other Camillus "traditional" blades. I would have a Craftsman Stockman by now, but Sears here has been sold out for over a month! Bastids haven't restocked the shelf. I wish Camillus made a Doc pattern slipjoint with the spatula... I'd love one of those! Even if it said Craftsman on the blade. I know nothing about Schrade, so I cannot comment.

I was in Sears the other day and saw a Kershaw Scallion with a Craftsman logo. Nowhere could I find a Kershaw logo on the package.
