Cold Steel double edge machete?

Does anyone know it's blade thickness? Also if you own one do you like it? Is it any good? I'm a bit skeptical about its effectiveness because its double edged and thats a bit odd for a machete.

Are you talking about the smatchet? If so, it's more of a cool toy than a practical tool. That's my take anyhoo.

Are you talking about the Garden and Camp Machete one they just released this year?

It has a double edge, but it's based on an African agricultural tool that has been around for years, with a long history of use behind it. It's not exactly used in the same fashion has a Latin machete, it's meant more for clearing grass and low vegetation, swung in a back and forth motion. The only other Cold Steel machete I know of with a double edge is the Gladius machete, which is essentially just a "fun" item, for people who don't want to spend the money on getting an actual gladius.

Yeah unfortunately the Cold Steel Smatchet is single edged I believe. I'm hoping Cold Steel comes out with a real Smatchet in the size range and price of their Gurkha kukri's. I'm surprised they haven't already done it.
