Cold Steel Espada Rip-Off

I don't know if many of you are into video games but recently when i was playing CS:GO, a first person shooter game, i came across a knife they call the "falchion" knife and i immediately thought of the large cold steel Espada.
After further inspection i found the two knives to be almost identical. I'm just wondering if cold steel and the makers of counter strike have an agreement, or if it is just a shameless rip-off of the Espada.
What are your guy's thoughts?

Looks almost identical, but it's a video game knife so, not to be harsh, but who really cares? It's not real.

Looks like the knife that Mickey Rourke throws in the tattoo shop scene in The Expendables. But I could be wrong.

I don't see how it makes much of a difference either way. I mean, they are not making money off of it.

Looks pretty close but the Espada is more or less an update of the Spanish navaja folder. So really a copy of a copy of a 100 year old design.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone was, actually. A friend of mine designed a few popular hats for a similar online multiplayer game, Team Fortress 2, and he consistently nets hundreds of dollars a month from downloads.

It's a digital representation of a knife used as to not have to pay royalties to the original designers or because they just wanted the design and not have to advertise for the manufacturer. Happens in games all the time. Not a huge deal and definitely not the first time this happened.

If anything is to be made out of this situation,
Impressionable gamers could end up
Immitating in life
Stuff existing in their virtual world
And that could possibly mean more interest
In owning what's real... Knives, guns and all.
Its free advertising and a very effective
Way to send subliminal messages for these products.

Ever play Guns Of The Patriots? Hideo Kojima has used a few custom knives in the MGS series. Look at the Warren Thomas stuff that Raiden carries.
