Yesterday I received the Espada XL I ordered last week. Wow! I knew it was large, but seeing and holding it in person still surprised me a bit. After testing it out and learning the ergonomics and heft of the knife, I slipped it into my pocket using the pocket clip. I was shocked! I expected a mass of metal this large to feel horrible and uncomfortable in the pocket, but it doesn't. Today it's in my pocket at work (desk job) and it's every bit as comfortable as my EDC XM-18. The shock factor was awesome when I showed it to my office mates who all know I'm a knife nut. They all got a kick out of it. Anyway, I'm going to try to EDC this monster for a week and see how things go. :D

COOL! While not as big, I carry my Ontario Hossom Retribution 1 at times. I put a foldover deep carry clip at the rear of the knife and it virtually dissapears in my pocket. I wear kakhi type pants with slash pockets and the knife does not print on these. I get quite a reaction when I pull it out to cut a string!:D

Congrats on your beast! I personally draw my comfort line at 5.5" but if you can pull it off, rock it like a mullet!

That poor guy must be starving. He's has nothing to eat but dried out straw.

Nice... it rides very comfortably for me in jeans. Alot lower profile than a Rajah II. Gotta watch your pocket cuts, cause it'll try to run off on ya if they are those long diagonal deals. I avoid showing it to people like the plague. Not sure how laid back your office is, but that's a serious piece of hardware to bring to show & tell.

I had the same experience when I recieved my first rajah. I knew it was gonna be big, but it still suprised me how large it is. And then, just like you said, I started EDCing it and it was perfectly comfortable. I carried that thing for months!

I have the large Espada and the Rajah 1. The only thing stopping me from getting the XL Espada is the price. The best Canadian price I've seen is $350.00 which, so far, is giving me a bit of a pause.

I love carrying the Rajah 1 and 2 but no offense meant, that XL Espada is too big for me to carry in the pocket. It's overall bigger than a ESEE Junglas man!!

I've been EDC'ing my Espada XL for just over a week. I'm wearing longer t shirts now to hide the pommel which protrudes a bit from the pocket. Where I live folders may be carried concealed with NO length limit but just as I'm not a "gun flasher" neither do I expose a primary defensive knife. I keep a smaller folder in my back pocket for envelopes, string, etc. and no one sees the Espada. It's a fine weapon and I know that if, one day, push comes to shove, I can depend upon it to keep me safe. The size alone, coupled with the aggressive blade shape, tells me that the intimidation factor is very likely to stop a bad situation from getting worse, or deadly.

I am waiting to buy one of these. They've been back-ordered for some time now. As soon as some are available, I'll get one. I've been edcing the Espada L for some time now, but I substitute a Black Rhino for work. Although truthfully, what sticks out of the pocket looks no different for either one.

To the OP, doesn't that extra two inches really push the limits for a normal pair of Levis front pocket? The Large version is just about bottomed out in my pocket, where does the extra two inches go?
