Cold Steel Floding Knife

They have many different steels some are really good some are not . They sale such a wide range of knives that its hard to keep up with. I have several, The Voyager, Recon one, and the Ultimate Hunter which is about the toughest folder I have seen. I also have th Gunsite and Kudu.

Carbon V is probably the best steel CS has used in their history. If you're going to get a CS knife and you have the choice of Carbon V, get that steel over the others. However, get the knife you like the best over the steel.

SK-5 is a Japanese alloy steel that is roughly 1080 with some additional elements. Threads have reported that it performs well.

Carbon V was Cold Steel's name for an alloy steel made for and heat treated by Camillus. When Camillus went bankrupt the supply of Carbon V ended and Cold Steel switched to SK-5.
