All input is welcome positive and negative:), I have 2 of those and theyre superb knives equal to Spyderco or maybe even better performing knives...Im looking for Caledonian edge folder in san mai3 to buy ....maybe overpriced but good!Vg1 scimitar is superb knife....and I have other el hombre made in Japan.....excellent beater!!!!

I've got a lot of CS folders , as well as other CS items, and for what it's worth I think that ,generally speaking, they're good quality. Maybe I should mention that I also have knives from more 'respected' makers like Spyderco, Emerson and Benchmade for example, and my Cold Steel knives don't suffer in comparison in my opinion. Anyway what other companies make products that are as freakin' cool?

depends on what you want them for.

For EDC for the price range there are other makes (like spyderco) that are better.
For SD most are good but some look a tad Mall Ninja'ish

I like the fact that they produce the Tri-Ad lock. In my experience it's been quite nice and doesn't develop any play. Peace of mind.

I wish they would produce some of their knives in harder steel, though. Maybe VG-10 or 154CM. And fix the pocket clips.

I think the current list of Cold Steel Folder MADE in Japan is pretty short (3 or less??). So are you asking about discontinued folders??

Never had a CS folder from Japan. Some of the ones I've seen appear to be very well made and are good performers. I know Lynn T can attest to the performance, seeing as how he is such a sport hunter.

Well all of the companies do really. In fact way cooler, even though Cold Steel makes "okay" folders (like the Recon-1, American Lawman and the X-Large Espada for e.g.) they aren't normally considered as "cool" by the majority of knife nuts. Now my Busse CABS, that's as cool as a knife gets or an XM-18 or a Spyderco Military in CPM S90V - they're cool! :D

My old large Voyager in VG1 made in Seki City is a really smooth & sharp knife for a pinned folder with a polymer handle.

I have not tried that particular knife. I'm going to see if I can find one on the cheap.

I have a Gunsite folder that was made in Japan. I have had that one for at least 10 years. I have zero complaints with it.I have a lot of other folders Kershaw and Spyderco.
