Just a heads up for scandi-grind fans...Cold Steel is bringing out a folding scandi for 2015. Only a few years ago we had almost no folding scandis...now they are finally showing up in some numbers. Enzo had it first (that I personally know of) but this new one has some potential also.

TRUE zero grind scandi...STRONG lock...the long-term handle comfort is my biggest unknown at this time. AUS8 isn't real exciting these days but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt until we have actual field use instead of being a steel snob just for the sake of Internet banter... :D

I'm pretty interested in this one. It looks like a great knife for people just getting into quality knives. Lightweight, tough and the combination of AUS8 and a Scandi grind should make it stupid easy to keep very sharp. Honestly, I think the Finn Wolf could fill a number of roles quite well. Decent EDC option, tough and inexpensive beater, looks like a good option for day hikes or as a convenient companion for a larger blade. Cold Steel might have a real winner with this one.

Coincidence, I'm also a David from NC. Interesting to see the retail $ on this one.

I was eyeing this at the CS website yesterday, glad the OP is sharing the news! I, too, am wondering about the handle shape, specifically the end where it curls. I am not sure if I will like that feature or not, but everything else looks great.

The handle is a classic shape. For example, it is very similar to that of the Spyderco Military, although the Military is about an inch longer.

Interesting "pukko".
Surprised how low the price is on these.
Not sure about the handle but, then again, it's folder.
Interested to hear what people think of it.

With the Tri-Ad lock, it should open easily enough.

Anyone who likes to carry a backup in the woods, which is a good idea, could get one of these and not worry about the cost.

Well I'm certainly interested, but I'm not seeing any available. Anyone know who's selling these?
Anyone put hands on one yet?

u.w.

Cold Steel's ad copy would gag a maggot, but I have to admit, I'll probably pick up one of these. I keep a Pocket Bushman in my BOB, and it has always performed well.

It really looks like a winner and the pricing looks to be great. We'll see how it actually performs. I love the Recon 1 folder for bushcraft as it's super strong and very capable.
