I have a g.i tanto that a friend on another forum that took a tanto and made it into a modified clip or drop point knife. He was just starting out and the mod was great. The only problem is that where he modded it left bare metal. I was wondering if there was anyway that I could remove the coating and make the knife look the same all over.

Sand paper,and time,use wet/dry paper,oil or water,and start sanding,use a clock wise motion,switching direction,so say you start with 80 grit(just and example)..,sand in one direction,then when enough finish is removed,change to say 120 grit and go in another direction,angled,and so on...when you get to the type of finish you want....rub lengthwise with scotchbrite pad to pull all together
